They try it and like it and spread the word and then people like me try it, like it, use it professionally, and pay their license fee (because I work hard to create what I do and I think my tools' creators deserve money just as much as I, doubly so if it's a tool that I use pretty much all day long). Not forcing licensing in the program itself allows them to have a much larger student and hobbyist base, which in turn then does free marketing for them. They will get more sales from professionals who use it than sales they lose to professionals who use it without paying. Make no mistake, they allow the unlicensed version to continue functioning for this very reason. I didn't tell you what to do, I just stated my opinion. I said I find it sad that people in a profession that averages anywhere from $50-100 per hour in a decent market find $70 to be expensive for a tool that EASILY saves them several hours a week.
